Eye Brow Lifts
If you are bothered by expression lines or other signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift by Dr. Levine may be right for you. A brow lift minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes. It improves frown lines, the vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows and can reposition a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid while raising the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position.
Brow lifts come in several iterations:
Endoscopic brow lifts
The endoscopic brow lift technique consists of placing a series of 2 to 4 small incisions in the scalp behind the hairline. Inserted into these incisions is an endoscope, a thin, elongated tube with a small light that is connected to a camera. This special instrument allows Dr. Levine to modify the muscles and achieve the proper brow position, maintained by suture fixation. No scalp skin is excised.
Trichophytic (Hairline) Brow Lift
The Trichophytic (Hairline) Brow lift is done with an incision made only a few millimeters in size that is placed directly in the hairline in a wavy fashion, camouflaging the incision. By incorporating the extreme bevel, the hair follicles can regrow through the scar, making it virtually imperceptible after several months. Skin is removed from the non-hair-baring portion of the forehead. The brows are elevated while the hairline is not. This approach does not raise the hairline.
What an eyebrow lift can do:
Rejuvenation procedures typically performed by Dr. Levine in conjunction with a brow lift include eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes (blepharoplasty), a facelift to correct aging changes in the mid- to lower face and neck regions and skin resurfacing techniques.
