Mini-Facelift
The mini-face lift procedure is for those over 40 years of age who want to stay ahead of the aging process. It provides an overall lift to the face and neck with a fast recovery, small incisions, a low risk of complications, and immediate results. The mini-face lift can erase five to ten years from your face and neck.
The mini-face lift is an outpatient procedure performed using local anesthetic and takes about three hours to perform. A small incision is made starting at the upper side-burn area, extending behind the tragus of the ear to the ear lobe and then into the crease behind the ear toward the hairline. The underlying connective tissue is tightened, the excess skin is tailored and the incision is carefully closed using a detailed suturing technique that is designed to reduce tension and minimize scarring.
The recovery from the mini-face lift is much faster than a traditional face lift with most patients returning to their normal routine within seven to ten days. Although a prescription for pain medication is provided, most patients say Tylenol is all they need to alleviate any discomfort. Some patients may experience slight temporary bruising, which may be camouflaged with makeup. To minimize postoperative swelling, patients should apply cold compresses for the first two days and sleep with their head elevated for the first week. Results are immediate as the procedure tightens the cheeks, jaw line, nasolabial and marionette folds and neck. The mini-face lift can be combined simultaneously with other procedures such as facial-neck liposuction, forehead thread lifting, blepharoplasty and skin-resurfacing procedures.
