IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Laser PhotoFacial

A PhotoFacial is a non-invasive treatment performed by the VascuLightâ„¢ Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser. Approved by the FDA in 1998, the VascuLightâ„¢ IPL laser rejuvenates the skin by sending pulses of light into the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin.

The treatments remove spider veins, redness, brown spots and reduce fine wrinkling, scarring, pore size, irregular pigmentation and sun damage. Research has shown that it is the most effective treatment for rosacea, reducing the flushing associated with it by over 90 percent. PhotoFacials are most commonly done on the face, neck, chest and hands. However, any body area can be treated.

Most patients need three to five treatments at three-week intervals for optimal results although you will see a marked improvement to your skin after the first treatment. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvements without the side effects commonly seen with other laser procedures such as prolonged wound healing, redness and bruising.
